Love Your Skin

Something that has recently sparked my interests is bar soap. I spent quite a good amount of money (more than I’d like to admit) on liquid hand soaps last year which made me question if they are even worth the buck. So, I have been researching bar soaps. If you love your skin and are interested in a better, more economical option, keep reading.

Benefit 1:

Bar soap is not a one-size-fits-all type of product. Made with a variety of ingredients, there are different types of soaps for different skin types. There are some combinations that are better suited to acne prone skin and others that are better for dry skin. Each person has unique skin and these bar soaps cater to this. I don’t know about you, but this really appeals to me!

Benefit 2:

Bar soap is actually more eco-friendly than your regular liquid hand wash. They usually come in less plastic-based and more paper-based packaging, which is less harmful to the environment as it breaks down easily in landfills.

Benefit 3:

There is less wastage when using bar soaps. Over-use is a common problem when it comes to liquid hand wash, due to the nature of dispensing pumps. And since liquid hand washes are usually more expensive, they can eventually end up biting into your monthly budget too.

The Polly website has a wide range of luxurious hand-crafted soaps. And of course, they cater to all skin types. For this blog, I decided to share with you my favorites from one of our partner brands, YellowBerry.

Up first is the absolutely refreshingly creamy Avocado Soap. This soap just transports me under the shade of blooming avocado trees, where I am sipping on a cool margarita and enjoying the smell of sweet, citrusy nectar. Apart from being a portal to a sweet-smelling world, this soap is great for dry/combination and acne prone skin. With ingredients like avocado puree and organic raw shea butter, your skin will definitely be left feeling soft and smooth.

Do you need a solution for those pimples? Are you tired of your skin feeling oily to the touch? Well, I have the perfect remedy for you. Try Yellowberry’s Activated Charcoal with Neem & Aloe soap. The soap is suitable for oily and acne prone skin. The activated charcoal, coupled with the effects of aloe vera and coconut oil, will not over-dry your skin, but will leave you feeling clean and smooth.

If you’re suffering from inflamed acne prone skin, look no further! The Chamomile Tea Tree soap from this range soothes your skin and keep that acne at bay. Apart from this, the soap even tackles the appearance of those stubborn acne scars. The soap is suitable for oily, combination and acne prone skin.

And lastly, your baby’s skin definitely needs some love as well. Try out the Baby Soap: Goat’s Milk & Cocoa Butter. Like the name suggests, the baby soap contains moisturizing goat’s milk and nourishing organic cocoa butter making it perfect for dry and sensitive skin types. The soap is fragrance-free and is mild enough to use on your little one’s skin.

These are just a few of my favorites. Check out our website and browse the many different soaps from a range of Made-in-Pakistan by small, indie, home-grown brand partners. Most of our partners make by hand! Another fun fact: ALL of our natural skincare brand partners are small, women-owned businesses! Isn’t that great?

So what are you waiting for? Whatever your skin type, we’ve got the soap for you.

Keep glowing,

Sara
